Private John Miller

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of James and Ellen Miller, of 62, St. Paul’s Avenue, Hyson Green, Nottingham. He was an upholsterer before enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, on 9th August 1915, aged 19, in the attack on the German positions at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
Commemorated: Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. Panel 39 and 41.
His brother Private William Miller, 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, also fell in the Great War.
