Lived at 73, Norton Street, Radford, Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Selina Johnson, of 20, Wimbourne Road, Radford, Nottingham. He was a blind maker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action on 5th July 1916, aged 21, in the attack on the German positions at La Boisselle, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
