Private John Henry Hopewell

Battalion : 1/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Kimberley and lived at Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Son of Henry and Alice A. Hopewell, of 8 Chatham Street, Southwell. He was lace at Carey and Son’s, Southwell, prior to enlisting 1st April 1908 at Southwell. He went to France 2nd March 1915 and was killed in action, 30th July 1915, aged 25, during the German attack at Hooge, Belgium.
