Born at Nottingham and lived at 14 Granville Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Son of Bartholomew and Ann Good, of 4 West Street, Ilkeston. He was a Telegraph messenger for the Great Northern Railway prior to enlisting on 8th August 1914 at Derby. He went to France on 1st March 1915 and was killed in action, 6th May 1915, aged 18, whilst serving in the trenches near Lindenhoek, Belgium.
