He was born at Sibsey, Lincolnshire. Son of George Henry and Ann Cope of 10 New Balderton Street, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Enlisted at Newark, Nottinghamshire, went to France 28th June 1915 and was killed in action, 24th June 1916, whilst serving in the line at Foncquevillers, France.
