Born at Belper, Derbyshire. Son of William and Ann Cheetham of 17 Sunny Hill, Milford, Derbyshire. Husband of Rosa Cheetham, of 2 Late Tantums, Sunny Hill, Milford, Derbyshire. He was a joiner prior to enlisting. He was killed in action, 5th March 1917, in the attack near Andover, France.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
