Born in Nottingham and lived at Forest Fields, Nottingham. Son of George and Emma Caunt, of 53, Walker Street, Nottingham. Husband of Celina Caunt, of 14, Shirley Terrace, Kirkstead Road, Forest Fields. One of five brothers who fought in the war. He was a joiner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and died as a prisoner of war from appendicitis at Hamela Weser, Germany, on 6th January 1915.
