Private Charles Samuel Carter

Battalion : 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Hollington, Derbyshire. Son of Edward and Martha Carter, of Market Place, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. He was a farmer prior to enlisting at Ashbourne, He went to France 28th June 1915 and was killed in action, 30th September 1915, at age 19, when the German exploded a mine and shelled the British line at Outerdom, Belgium.
