Lance Coporal Joseph Caple

Born and lived at Derby. Son of John and Lydia Caple, of 369 Green Street, Derby. Husband of Florence Jones (formerly Caple), of 2, Gisborne Street, Derby. He was a labourer for Derby Corporation prior to enlisting 23rd November 1910. He was appointed Lance Corporal 13th June 1911 and went to France 11th November 1914 and was killed in action, 16th September 1916, age 26, in the attack at Guillemont, France during the Battle of the Somme.
