Lance Corporal Bertie Bemrose

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Radcliffe-upon-Trent, Nottinghamshire. Son of W. Samuel and Mary Ann Bemrose, of Bingham Road, Radcliffe-upon-Trent, Nottinghamshire. He was a farm labourer and enlisted 22nd December 1909 at Nottingham. He served in India from 13th December 1911 to 2nd September 1914. Went to France 4th November 1914. He was appointed Lance Corporal 28th June 1917 and was killed in action 29th May 1918.
