Son of John and Kate Allen, of Scarthin, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Matlock on 1st November 1915, went to France on 8th November 1916 and was killed in action on 29th June 1918 whilst out on a working party near Hazebrouck, France.
