Born and lived at Old Basford Nottinghamshire. Son of Francis Palethorpe Adams and Rose Adams, of 7, Henser Grove, Hyson Green, Nottingham. Husband of Ellen Adams, of 35, Rempstone Drive, Highbury Estate, Bulwell, Nottingham. He was hosiery dyers boiler stoker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th October 1914, aged 28, when the battalion held position south-east of Bois Grenier, Ennetieres/Escobecques, France against a German attack.
