He was born at Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. Son of Albert and Phoebe Wilson, husband of Gladys Wilson. He lived at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire and was a miner at Hucknall Colliery, Nottinghamshire and B Winning Colliery, Blackwell, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on 6th November 1914, went to France on 2nd May 1915 and was killed in action on 5th July 1916.
