Born and lived at South Normanton, Derbyshire. Son of William and Elizabeth Wilkinson, of 22 Church Street, South Normanton. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, on 19th August 1917, in the attack on the Knoll/Lempire, France.
