Private George Taylor Whyman

Battalion : 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Old Radford, Nottingham. Son of John and Frances Whyman, of 29 Phoenix Street, Forest Side, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a miner at Brierley Hill Colliery, Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Sutton-in-Ashfield in September 1914, went to France 23rd December 1915 and died when a shell burst in his trench 24th July 1917.
Commemorated : Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. Panel 39 and 41.
