Battalion: 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Went to France on 25th February 1915. Son of Richard and Elizabeth Whitworth, of 21, Alderney Street, Lenton, Nottingham. Killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 19, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
