Born in Nottingham and lived at Stapleford, Nottingham. Son of William and Maria Wheelhouse, of 5, Alveys Yard, Fisher Gate, Nottingham. Husband of Hannah Maria Gibson (formerly Wheelhouse), of 5, Luther Square, Halls Road, Stapleford, Nottingham. He was a regular soldier and enlisted at Nottingham. He went to France on 9th September 1914 and was killed in action, on 9th August 1915, aged 30, in the attack at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
