Battalion: 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Bulwell, Nottingham. Son of David and Hannah Warner, of 313, Quarry Road, Bulwell. Husband of Annie Ellis (formerly Warner). He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham and was killed in action, on 17th July 1916, during the German shelling of the trenches, to the southeast of Trones Wood, France, during the Battle of the Somme.

Buried: Guillemont Road Cemetery, Guillemont, France. Plot 6. Row C. Grave 1.
