Born at Arnold, Nottingham. Son of William And Esther Wardle, of 39, St. Albans Road, Arnold, Nottingham. Was a blacksmith for Mr. Flowers, of Derby Road, Nottingham. He enlisted at Kimberley, Nottinghamshire, 21st November 1911. Went to France 2nd March 1915 and was promoted Corporal 23rd August 1915. He was killed in action 14th October 1915, age 21.
