Born at Derby. Husband of Annie Underwood, of 34, Upper Eldon Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France 27th December 1914 and died of wounds received in action near Fromelles, France, 11th May 1915

Buried : Merville Communal Cemetery, France. Plot II, Row T. Grave 3.
