Born at Sneinton, Nottinghamshire. Brother of Mr. F. Tytherley, of 33, Kingston St., Sneinton, Nottinghamshire. He was a lace hand. He enlisted at Nottingham 30th January 1904. He served in India (Bangalore) from 15th March 1907 to 16th March 1911. He went to France 10th October 1914 and died from gunshot wounds to both thighs 10th October 1916, age 29.
