Born at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Anna Turton, of Hucknall. Husband of Ada Turton, of 37 Thames Street, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner before enlisting at Nottingham 14th June 1915. He went to France 6th March 1916 and died 13th August 1918, age 37.
