Born at Kimberley, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Elsie Turner. He enlisted at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, went to France 2nd March 1915 and died as a prisoner of war 12th May 1917.

Buried/Commemorated : Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany. Plot VIII, Row E. Grave 19.
