Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Joseph and Sarah Tomlinson, of Chapel Hill, Cromford, Matlock, Derbyshire. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 12th March 1915, aged 24, in the German counter-attack and then the British counter-attack during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.
