Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Whitwell, Derbyshire. Son of William and Martha Taylor, of 6, Portland Street, Whitwell. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 22nd June 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, age 20, in the British attack on the German positions at Sanctuary Wood, near Ypres. Belgium.
