Son of Thomas and Mary Swords, of 6, Marne Villas, Anchor Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham; Husband of Elizabeth Swords, of 14, St. Catherines Avenue, Balby. He was a lace winder prior to enlisting at Doncaster. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 28, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
