Second Lieutenant James Philip Sidney Streatfeild

Born at Grafton Square, Clapham Common, 5th November 1879 and lived at 33, Glebe Place, Chelsea. Son of Arthur Ogle Streatfeild and Lydia Mary Streatfeild, of Chanters House, Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. He was educated at Dulwich School and at the Royal Academy School of Painting, Burlington House, London, of which he was a silver medallist. He exhibited in the Royal Academy on several occasions between 1901 and 1915. He was commissioned into the Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, in November 1911. He died 3rd June 1915, aged 35, from peritonitis in a nursing home at Norbury due to illness brought on by exposure in the trenches.
