Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Strawther, of 29, Chesterfield Road, Staveley, Derbyshire. Husband of Hannah Trickett (formerly Strawther), of 55, Chapel Rd, Grassmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France on 14th July 1915. Killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 25, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
