Lance Corporal George William Starbuck

Born at Stathern Leicestershire. Son of Thomas And Emma Starbuck, of Stathern, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire; Husband of Minnie Starbuck, of 43, May Street, Derby. Lived at Netherfield, Nottingham. He was a tailor. Enlisted 8th August 1914 at Derby. and went to France on 1st March 1915. He was appointed Lance Corporal on 6th April 1915. He was diagnosed as having rheumatism in a field ambulance on 10th July 1918 and was sent to Divisional Rest Station. From there he was put on an ambulance train and died on 20th July 1915, age 40 of heart failure at 2nd General Hospital, Le Havre, France.
