Son of John and Hettie Sherratt, of 4, Occupation Road, Church Gresley, Burton-On-Trent. Went to France on 12th October 1915. Killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 18, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
