Battalion : 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Derby and lived at Ouse Bridge, Gedling, Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Mary Shelton, of 43, Victoria Road, Netherfield, Nottingham. He enlisted at Southampton and was killed in action, 9th October 1916, aged 37, during the attack on the Schwaben Redoubt, near Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
