Born at Annesley, Nottinghamshire, Son of Aaron Sheldon and Mrs. A. M. Short (formerly Sheldon), of 22, 2nd Avenue, Forest Town, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Was a coal miner. He enlisted at Nottingham 25th August 1914 and went to Gallipoli 13th September 1915. He died 19th November 1915, aged 20.
