Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Frank and Annie Salmon, of 28, Greenwoods Yard, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 11th March 1915, aged 22, during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.

Commemorated: Le Touret Memorial, France. Panel 26 and 27.

His brother Private Lewis Salmon, Machine Gun Corps, also fell in the Great War.
