Company Sergeant Major William James Rogers

Battalion : 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at St. Austell, Cornwall. Husband of Florence Rogers, of 15, Redcliffe Street, Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He served 7 years in the Coldstream Guards then became a drill instructor in the Police force. He enlisted 16th September 1914 at Mansfield and was promoted C.S.M. 29th July 1915. He suffered gunshot wounds to his abdomen and was admitted to No.1 Casualty Clearing station at Chocques, France, 26th September 1915 and died from those wounds 28th September 1915, age 41
