Born at Swinderby, Lincolnshire. Husband of Amy Renshaw, of 4, Mount Pleasant, Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a miner at Bentinck Colliery, near Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire prior to enlisting at Sutton-in-Ashfield in September 1914. He went to France 2nd March 1915 and died 29th August 1918, age 30
