(Distinguished Conduct Medal) M.S.M (Military Service Medal) London Gazette 12th March 1919: On the 29th September 1918, at Bellenglise he showed the greatest gallantry and devotion to duty. He reorganised the company after a difficult advance through thick fog. Before the final assault he fearlessly exposed himself to heavy machine-gun fire in his efforts to control the company more efficiently, and whilst so employed he was severely wounded. He set a fine example throughout M.S.M. London Gazette 18th January 1919
