Son of Thomas Ratcliffe, of 52, Harrison Street, Derby; Husband of Rose Ratcliffe, of Weston-On-Trent, Derby.
Killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 40, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
