Born in Derby and lived at 65 Holcombe Street, Derby. Son of Arthur And Florence Maria Hough, of 75, Leman St., Derby. He was a railway engine trimmer prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 18th September 1915 and died of wounds on 7th July 1916, aged 20 received in the attack on La Boisselle, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
