Born at Bridge gate , Derbyshire. Son of Mrs. Adeline Rivers, of 4 House, Wide Yard, Bridge gate, Derby. He was a riveter. He enlisted 18th August 1914 and went to France 11th December 1914. He was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross. Died 12th March 1915. Age 32.
