Son of Thomas Piper; Husband of Minnie Abbott (Formerly Piper), of 41, Sandy Lane, Mansfield.

Killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 25, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
