Son of Abraham and Emma Pinder, of 6, Holmwood Terrace, Lightwood Road, Buxton, Derbyshire. He went to France on 24th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th October 1914, aged 38, when the battalion held position south-east of Bois Grenier, Ennetieres/Escobecques, France against a German attack.
