Born at Liverpool and lived at 11, Royston Terrace, Meadows, Nottingham. Husband of May Pierce of Royston Terrace, Meadows, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France 16th February 1915 and was killed in action, 7th August 1916, during the attack on the German positions at Delville Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.
