Born at Dalby, Leicestershire. Husband of Beatrice Perkins, of 20, Berkeley Street, Thurmaston, Leicester. He was a shoe hand prior to enlisting 8th December 1915 at Leicester into the Leicestershire Regiment. He was transferred to the 4th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 12th March 1917. Posted to the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and went to France 12th June 1917. He was killed in action, 17th May 1918, aged 29, whilst serving in the line near Essars, France.
