Born in Southwell, Notts and was a gardener. Son of John and Annie Paling, of Constance Villa, Station Road, Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Enlisted 8th September 1914 at Newark, Nottinghamshire, went to France 2nd March 1915 and was killed in action 12th June 1915, aged 22.
Buried/Commemorated : Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Belgium. Row D, Grave 62.
