Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Dronfield, Derbyshire. Son of William and Emily Harriet Packard, of 26, Fanshaw Road, Dronfield, Derbyshire. He was a scythe grinder at an edge tool works prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He went to France 18th March 1915 and was killed in action, 15th September 1916, aged 22, during the attack on the German positions at Guillemont, France during the Battle of the Somme.
