Born at Nottingham and lived at 82, Cross Main Street, Sherwood, Nottingham. Son of Hiram and Elizabeth Ann Osborne, of New Basford, Nottingham; Husband of Florence Mabel Osborne, of 77, Birkin Avenue, Hyson Green, Nottingham. He was a lace curtain maker prior to enlisting 10th December 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France 16th July 1916 and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 26, during the attack near Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.
