Born at Nottingham and lived at 2, Crossland Place, Leen Side, Nottingham. Son of John and Emma Oliver, of 9, Leather Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France 18th May 1915 and was killed in action, 26th October 1916, whilst in the line near Trones Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.
