Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Samson and Elizabeth Ann Nock, of 4A, Albert Street, Highbury Vale, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting 9th December 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France 27th August 1916 and was killed in action, 13th September 1916, age 20, whilst in the line near Montauban, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
