Private James Neal

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire and was a miner. Husband of Mary Ellen Neal. Enlisted at Sutton-in-Ashfield and went to France 23rd December 1915. He was killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
