Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Frederick William and Annie Murden, of Nottingham Road, Keyworth, Nottingham. Volunteered For Service Immediately on Declaration of War. Went to France on 27th August 1914. Killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 21, in the attack on the German positions near Ovillers, France during the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
